T.O.p Dogs – Meet Max

The one thing that I do, that I’ve always done, is that I usually stop and chat with people on the street that have dogs. I can’t help myself, never could. Ever since I was a little girl I used to stop and pet dogs all the time wishing I had one. No I didn’t grow up with a dog but that’s a story for another time. Every so often I would see a dog on the street or tied up outside of a store waiting for their human and I would pull out my iPhone and take a picture because…well they are so darn cute. Anyway this idea for a project has been percolating for a while now…why not take candids of dogs that I randomly meet on the streets of Toronto. So whether I have my iPhone with me or my DSLR I’ll be on the lookout for some of the cutest furry faces Toronto has to offer.

So today I introduce to you… T.O.p Dogs.

Meet Max the Siberian Husky.

Charlie Brown was often quoted as saying “Why can’t I have a normal, ordinary dog like everyone else?”.  Well Charlie Brown let me tell you, it’s the idiosyncrasies that our pets have that make them who they are and it’s those very idiosyncrasies that makes us love them so much.

I remember when we first brought Brady, our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, home. He was a tiny little thing that wiggled his way into the hearts of every member of my family from the very first minute we set eyes on him. In those first few weeks at home, my husband (who’s the early riser) would get up, take Brady out of his crate and bring him out to the backyard so that he could relieve himself. He would then bring Brady upstairs to our bedroom and because he was still too small to jump up, Alan would lift up Brady and place him on the bed and Brady would proceed to jump/bounce all over me and give me kisses to wake me up. He would do this with our children too. Imagine Tigger from Winnie the Pooh…you remember him…”bouncy, wouncy, flouncy, pouncy” Tigger. That’s Brady and now fast forward 9 years, he can now jump on the bed by himself and he still wakes us up this way.

Welcome to PhoDOGraphy by Edith Levy (PEL). I am so proud and excited to be launching this new website and lifestyle pet photography business.  PhoDOGraphy by Edith Levy is all about capturing your cherished pet in a natural setting where they can have fun and be themselves. I work closely with my clients to ensure we get the best images possible whether it be in a park, in an urban setting or your home.

Please have a look around the site. It’s still a work in progress but I’d love to get your feedback on it.
